Climate Change

You know what I find fascinating?

No, I guess you wouldn't.

Here's a hint; it has something to do with climate change (as the title probably suggests).

Give up?

Too bad. I'm going to tell you anyway.

What I'm fascinated about is the sudden silence surrounding the whole climate change drama.

Oh, sure, there's still a little coverage about it in the media. But it's dramatically reduced from all of the hysterical fear mongering reports of very recent times.

It's not actually all that surprising though. It was very clear that the popularity of climate change was dying (or about to) when global warming was changed to climate change due to the cooling of the planet.

Let's face it, if you were one of the fools to jump on the global warming band wagon, screaming about how we have to change our ways if we didn't want the planet to heat up anymore, it has to be very difficult to suddenly start spouting the exact opposite without sounding like an idiot.

Well, more of an idiot.

The fact that the planet started cooling really did shut up a lot of the global warming fans.

It's hard to argue that the climate changes aren't natural when the climate suddenly does what you want it to.

But, many people were still dedicated in their cause (and let's give them credit for that). These people very quickly changed it from global warming to climate change (to cover the fact that the planet is now cooling, in case you haven't picked up on that).

Although once the name of the cause had been changed, the popularity dropped. I guess, because many people on the climate change (formerly global warming) band wagon decided to do a little research. I guess in doing their research they realized that climate change IS, in fact, NORMAL.

These people, not wanting to look like bigger idiots than they already did jumped off the band wagon.

Now there's very little media coverage about climate change. This is because there's less hysterical people spreading the fear.

And now governments can go back to focusing on policies that don't include trying to control the climate ... at least, not publicly (I'm sure there's more than a few governments out there who would love to be able to control the climate to control the world). And the climate change fear mongers now have to wait for the climate to start warming again, before they can once again spread their message of fear.
